Windmill Hill Caravan Park Pembrokeshire Wales

Things to do

Besides the beaches, there are many other great ways to spend your days in South Pembrokeshire.

For the Family
Oakwood theme park is a good family day out offering something for all ages.  Folly Farm will be a bit hit with younger children, as they are able to feed and pet the animals, ride in a tractor and trailer and lots more.

Heatherton is also good for all age groups as there is 18 hole pitch and putt and driving range, go carts, baseball, archery, bumper boats and a soft play area.  Take a boat trip from Tenby to Caldey Island to visit the monks or take a day at Pembroke Castle reliving the battles and quests of long ago.

For the Golfer
There are a number of good 18 hole golf courses in the area, South Pembs being the closest parkland course along with Haverfordwest and Trefloyne also offering good quality greens.  Tenby has a challenging links course which over looks the picturesque Caldey Island.

For the Historian
There are numerous historical places to visit, Pembroke Castle, Carew Castle, St Davids Cathederal, Dylan Thomas Boat house at Laugharne are but a few definite, must do, days out.

For the Walkers
Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is second to none, the scenery is superb and will definitely take your breath away, the Coastal Cruiser bus service which passes Windmill Mill Hill makes it easy to use the camp site as a base to walk a large section of the coastal path, picking up and dropping off at all the beaches and places of interest in the area (It also allows bicycles on the bus so too, which could save some weary legs for some of the journey.)

For the Cyclist
Take a cycling holiday in south Pembrokeshire and enjoy the Celtic trail that begins in Fishguard and winds its way through  South Pembrokeshire providing some stunning cycling terrain.

For the Rock Climber
An annual visit to the cliffs of Pembrokeshire should be on every climbers calendar.  The limestone cliffs of South Pembrokeshire are particularly renowned for being able to trap the sun, enabling climbs to be tackled in shorts & T shirts even in the middle of Winter !  Add to this some wonderful secluded sandy beaches for a bit of après-climb relaxing and you’ve a formula for success.
